Come on down to the Downtown Digital Dome Theatre and Planetarium and enjoy a free planetarium show on Saturday July 3rd at 10 a.m. The free planetarium show is coordinated with the monthly Democrat "Sky Guy" column by the Tallahassee Astronomical Society. The July sky over Tallahassee will be reviewed including prominent constellations, stars and planets. The zodiac constellation Scorpius and the three constellations of the “Summer Triangle” will be highlighted for "Learning Constellations". The Binocular Object-of-the-Month is Ptolemy's Cluster, a large open star cluster near the stinger of Scorpius. Learn about M57, the Ring Nebula, the "Messier object of the Month". The Learning Astronomy topic this month is “The seven days of the week” and how they relate to the planets. While you are there stay for children’s show “The Legend of Orion”, the 11:00 a.m. regular planetarium show at one-half off the regular price for those attending the 10:00 a.m. free planetarium show.
