Information

Our Mission

The Tallahassee Astronomical Society is a non-profit educational and scientific society whose purpose is to share the joy of viewing the starry sky, and the promotion of friendship in a common bond.

Our Legal Status

We are a 501(C)(3)(E) non-profit educational and scientific organization dedicated to bringing the hobby of amateur astronomy to the Tallahassee area.

All donations are accepted and are tax-deductible. They will be used to promote amateur astronomy and to provide astronomical educational opportunities to the general public.

Meetings

TAS has regular indoor meetings as well as outdoor observing sessions, everyone is welcome. It is not necessary to have a telescope to enjoy the observing, since we will gladly share ours with you, or you may rent one of the club's telescopes. TAS has several special events during the year that are usually open to the general public. Watch our events calendar for upcoming meetings and observing sessions.
